Jig ID

Heard this on Comhaltas and thought it was a lovely tune, especially with the skillful zouk accompaniment. Anyone recognize the tune? Unless I'm being thick, i couldn't find the name of the tune on the page.

Re: Jig ID

The first one is that great Junior Crehan composition, the Lurgadán. I'm not sure about the other two though.

Re: Jig ID

The second one is Julia Clifford's Favourite but I've no idea about the third.

Re: Jig ID

You'll find the first two jigs here in the "Tunes" section as follows:-

The Lurgadan - http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/1880

Julia Clifford’s Favourite (also known as the Cordial Jig) - http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/864

I hope Michael's gone to bed by now!

Re: Jig ID

(It's called The Cordal Jig, not The Cordial Jig, as it happens. Dow says Cordal's the name of a village.)

Re: Jig ID

just went to your clip ceolachan, and I see the cordal is also known as the idle road, clearly a different idle road from the one I know,
all these IDLE ROADS we need to instill into these roads some protestant work ethic.Dick Miles
