Why? Are there sessions at Starbuck's in your area?

Re: Iphone and ABC

Not yet, as far as I know. Apple still keeps the iPhone locked down, and installing software on it isn't officially allowed (yet). They are releasing their SDK for the iPhone in February, I believe, and that will create an explosion of new apps, although, I think they will all have to be digitally signed and installed through iTunes.

Having said that, I have my iPhone hacked open, and run about 100 apps on it. Haven't seen an ABC player yet, though!

Re: Iphone and ABC

Hey Reverend,

While on the iPhone subject, I've looked through all the web apps and haven't seen anything that will allow one to use an iPhone as a voice recorder, for fast and dirty session recording. Is there anything in your crystal iBall that would indicate his feature will be available in the near future?

I was on he verge of getting myself a nano and third party attachment for this purpose, when G3 nano came out, so I delayed, waiting for the third party gizmo to catch up with that. Now, I've received an iPhone as a holiday office gift from my boss, but haven't decided whether to keep it yet.

I'm still searching for that easy to carry and use digital session recorder...

It's OK--I'm allowed to make iPhone jokes because I'm a Mac user.

Re: Iphone and ABC

Is Starbucks named after the mate in Moby Dick?

Re: Iphone and ABC

Are you afraid of Moby Dick?
No,I practice safe sex.

Re: Iphone and ABC

dafydd - they did take their name from Moby Dick it seems

When Starbuck said " I will have no man in my boat who is not afraid of the whale" it was a veiled reference to safe sex. Allegedly.

Re: Iphone and ABC

Not knowing what iphone or starbucks means is nothing to be ashamed of. But its nothing to be proud of either...

Re: Iphone and ABC

The iPhone is the Apple Company's first attempt at a cell phone. It's also a mp3 player, video player, and wireless internet device.

Starbucks is a coffee shop.

Hey Keith,

I actually have a voice recorder on my iPhone. It works for "quick and dirty" session recording, and you can email yourself the file!

The one I use is called "Voice Notes" (read about it here http://bigmacky.wordpress.com/2007/08/29/iphone-voice-notes/)

But as I mentioned, I currently have my iPhone "jailbroken" with a bunch of "illegitimate" apps on it. I would assume that once Apple gets the SDK out and gets the application installation process in place, voice notes will be one of the very first legitimate apps to be released!

Re: Iphone and ABC

Thanks Reverend; I guess I'll have to wait until after the MacWorld 2008 dust settles.

Happy 2008 all!
