Mary Tysdale: concertina player

Mary Tysdale: concertina player

I recently heard Mary Tysdale on TG4's Geantrai. She is a lovely player! Does anyone know more about her? Is she on any recordings?

Thanks,

w

Re: Mary Tysdale: concertina player

Mary Tisdall comes from Bantry, Co Cork, Ireland, and is well known in this area , along with her flute playing husband, Tom O'Sullivan. They are both very much involved with Bantry Comhaltas, and teaching trad. music. As far as I know she hasn't made any recordings, but I could be wrong (I'll let you know if I find out I'm wrong). I agree, she's a very good player, nice person too.

Yes, Richard is her brother, lovely fiddle player, beautiful style, I lived in Bantry '95-'97 and played in some great sessions with this crew in schull, skib & Ballydehob, John Coakley & Johnny Sweeny also. Sound People too, haven't been back down there since so it was great to see them on TG4............undiscovered treasure.
