Commonalty Set - Tripswitch

Commonalty Set - Tripswitch

I love the first reel in this set, but doubt whether its the same tune as given here in thesession.org.

Its called 'Mulvihills' on the CD but 'Charlie Mulvihills' sounds like a completely different tune.

Anyone know for sure?
Anyone know if the notes are on the web for Mulvihills?

I could work it out but it would be handy to just read the 'dots'.

Cheers

K

Do your self a favour and work it out. You'll get two things out of it. Generally your ear will improve, making it easier to learn the next tune. And specifically, your acquaintance and general memory of this tune will be greatly enhanced. (Not to mention all the stuff on the recording that isn't in the dots)

Re: Commonalty Set - Tripswitch

Check out the sheet music for the 'East Clare Reel'. Looks like it might be the one on the album, seeing as both are D minor tunes. Haven't had a chance to play it yet but it's probably the one your looking for.

Re: Commonalty Set - Tripswitch

Yup, it's the East Clare reel. I play it in Edor, which I'm sure John is doing on a low C whistle...
