Torrent

Hello,
I am wondering if anyone could lead me to a site to find torrents on old players. I found the Torrent on Mrs. Galvin and would love to hear other older players.
Thanks,
Geoff

Re: Torrent

Do you have an account with Dime? There is more ITM there than I have seen anywhere else (I'm talking about active torrents with more than one seeder), but the site isn't currently taking new registrations because they're maxed out. Hit and runners, mostly, but that's only conjecture. They're serious about ratios so if you get in, give back at least a quarter.

The big sites are hit or miss, at least that's been my experience, and whatever does come up is usually orphaned in the blink of an eye.

Maybe someone else has information, I'd be interested to know.

Re: Torrent

Here's what Kevin Rietmann posted a few months ago:

78s online - finally!

After a couple false starts I've found a home for my dubs of 78s - the Internet Archive, http://www.archive.org/. Am starting with pipers, search for "uilleann" and you'll see what I've done to date. I'm keeping a daily log of what I've added at the Chiff and Fipple Uilleann Pipes Forum, too, it's a "Sticky" topic at the top, "78 RPM recordings available online." Will proceed to fiddling, then fluting. I'll be throwing in most anything that isn't commercially available at the moment, lots of sides that have never been reissued too.
Enjoy!

These aren't torrents but MP3 files. I'd strongly recommend following his advice to check his 'sticky' at Chiff and Fipple, not just for piping but under 'Traditional String Instruments' too.

That heap is invaluable. Not torrents, but you can get a crawler to DL it while you sleep. Check it out.
