I play in a band which has been picked out to participate in a TV-series running on Saturday nights on Norway’s biggest TV-channel.
We are travelling to Dublin on Thursday to record a video production for this series. The goal of this production will be to investigate a little further on the influence from the Irish tradition in our music.
I was hoping on some advice on what we could do in Dublin on Thursday. Sessions, etc.
If there are any traditional musicians living in Dublin that would be willing to meet with us, that would be great!
There's normally a great trad session every Thursday night in Kiely's, Donnybrook from around 9.00pm onwards. Apart from good music, the regular musicians are also very welcoming to visitors.
session in Cobblestones, Smithfield, Dublin City.
Or, great session with Eoin Dillon (Kila) and friends, upstairs in The Palace Bar near Temple Bar.
Or, you can find plenty of oul sh*te being played all around the Temple Bar.
