Public Thank You for Pete

Public Thank You for Pete

I would like to thank Pete AKA "Reverend" for helping me obtain a great banjo.

A while back I posted an inquiry about getting started on banjo and what to purchase. Pete told me he was selling an old Vega and asked if I would be interested. He sent me a ton of pics, an MP3, and answer endless questions.

Long story short (too late) Pete make the buying experience easy as pie. His honesty and authentic concern is to be commended! I had my first lesson at the IAC in NYC last night, and that banjo was a pleasure to play!

THANKS PETE!!!

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

vindownes, shame on you. You just enabled Pete's problem with Instrument Acquisition Syndrome. He's probably out in a music shop right now, standing at the cash register with a shiny new bouzouki in hand...

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

You're more than welcome, Vin! I hope you continue enjoying the banjo, and maybe we'll have some tunes someday...

And kennedy, hush up you! You know very well that I can't buy a new bouzouki with the money from a banjo... (Now another banjo, on the other hand... ;-/)

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

Hear, hear. I "bought" my Orpheum No. 1 from Pete, despite knowing him in person!

(I have to put "bought" in quotes because I still haven't paid him for the thing, though I've "owned" it now since early May!!!)

What a guy!

He's also become the voice of reason and reasonableness here on the yella board. So the rest of us can go on howling at each other like rabid baby mole rats....

Go Pete!

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

LOL, even despite actually knowing me in person... Nice!

But now you have created a whole new group of people that are hoping that they can "buy" banjos from me... Thanks a lot, CPT ;-)

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

Hah, batlady, of course they're naked. Have you ever seen anyone here with clothes on?
:o)

Pete, just think, by the time I actually pay you for this banjo (in 35 years or so), what with inflation, appreciation, and interest, you'll be able to retire....

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

Yep, CPT, buying and selling banjos takes the place of my 401K, so I'm going to need it. :-/

Appraently I'm on the same plan, only my shares are in fiddles....

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

If the D-backs continue to play this badly - I'll be owning Pete banjo strings soon enough as well.... Grrrrrrr.

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

"e-know", or just e-quainted?

# Posted on October 12th 2007 by oldstrings

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

I dunno, oldstrings... I guess if I had to draw a line there somewhere, e-quainted could mean "knowing someone simply through these posting forums", for instance, and e-know might be that you "know the person's real name and have their email address"... Just a thought.

I'm getting ready to e-know Nutter there when he sends me some Newtone banjo strings ;-)

Nutter, that was a good game last night. The D-backs had their opportunities. It's unfortunate that there had to be a controversial play like that too. I think the call was correct, but that's a rough time to be calling it. And don't you hate it when just a couple idiots can ruin everybody else's fun? (And for once, I'm not talking about banjos or bodhrans!)

Regardless, it is going to be fun to watch this series. These two teams know each other pretty well.

Re: Public Thank You for Pete

Speaking of fun to watch, that was quite nerve-wracking, Nutter. And it was a great game to watch, even when I thought the outcome was going to be different. You guys should take at least some pride in making Manny blow a save. That doesn't happen very often.

Look out, though. It's supposed to be cold and rainy on Sunday!
