Have taken up concertina, will be gettng lessons but want to be able to play a few notes beforehand, can anyone give me a link for a website that has finger charts for a 30 button concertina(C-G I presume, its a Boorinwood if that helps)
Re: Concertina: Help would be very much appreciated
Here's a link with Wheatstone layouts. Even if yours is a Wheatstone layout, it may not be exactly like what they show here. It would be worth the effort to make your own custom chart...
You could print one of the pdf files and customize it if necessary to the layout of your box.
Suttner's layouts are for 31 keys. Your 30-button will lack the drone button on the left hand that plays C in both directions.
You might find differences at the extreme ends of the G row (lowest button on the left hand, highest button on the right hand), and in the right-hand accidentals row.

i will be making a fingering video within a couple days. check out my profile on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=consairtin . i have a video posted for A major--i dont recommend starting in that key! my video for G major will be more structured than the one for A.

Concertina maker Juergen Suttner has both Wheatstone and Jeffries layouts in both html and pdf formats here, at the bottom of the page:
