I'm trying to buy a copy of The Green Mountain by 'underrated' fiddler, Pat O'Connor. Amazon appears never to have heard of the man, and the Custy's website crashes repeatedly when you try to use the search engine. Any ideas?
Wolfbird, SL and alec b, thanks for your helpful advice. Wolfbird, what time of the morning were you checking your emails? I posted that at about 7.30 this morning and you responded within minutes, I'm a good few time zones ahead of you!
Hi sergeant fox,I don't sleep much, mostly little naps, and I have various fowls, rheas, geese, etc, that want letting out and feeding at first light,so i'm always up early.Partly why I'm such a fan of Mr O'Connor, because he shares appreciation of the dawn chorus.
i got mine from custys. both of his cds are lovely, but "the green mountain" is really special....full of very haunting stuff, played mostly in east-clare flat....f & c.....
Guys, thanks once again for the help. SL that's an odd piece of synchronicity. After posting this and checking the replies yesterday afternoon, me and my wife sat down last night and watched a pirate version of Hannibal Rising she'd picked up in the market. The film was a pile of sh!t alas but funny you're referencing the man with the teeth on the same day. Thanks again everyone.
oh, btw, you know you can see pat o'connor playing on youtube, right? there are 8 or 9 clips of him on a mini-tour he did on the u.s. east coast last year with concertina player claire keville. about half of the clips are from a house concert, about half from another small concert.
Where can I buy a Pat O'Connor CD?

I should add, perhaps, that I'm living abroad so I need to buy it over the internet and have it posted. Thanks!

Re: Where can I buy a Pat O'Connor CD?
Yes, Custy's is the obvious choice.
The website worked when I tried just now. But in case it's a regional thing you could mail them with your order:
custys.ennis@eircom.net
or ring them with your order 353 6521727
Both of which will work fine as well.

Re: Where can I buy a Pat O'Connor CD?
You're welcome, but I just spotted that I made a complete mess of the telephone nr.
Should be +353 65 6821727. Sorry about that. Hope the number above wasn't Hannibal Lector's "I'm tasty come and eat me" Hotline instead.

In case you are still having trouble getting on to Custy's, Claddagh Records are usually very good and have the Green Mountain in stock.

Re: Where can I buy a Pat O'Connor CD?
ok, i guess that should be, in quotes, "east-clare flat," since that was my own personal subjective way of thinking of those tunings........

Flat keys are no use to me - I live in a house.
