Printing select tunes?

Printing select tunes?

Hi all,
I am wondering how I can print only certain tunes, not my whole tunebook, as efficiently as possible. I have been trying to copy the images and paste them in word but that is not working (I see a black rectangle)... I haven't got the paper or ink resources to use in large amounts...
Any ideas?

Re: Printing select tunes?

Any tune that I feel worth keeping, I send to my tune book and delete any others., then print it Since I now have a printed copy of the tune it is not necessary to hold in the tune book. By doing this you are able to print the tune on one sheet without unnecessary info or other tunes. If you find it convenient to have a tune book, you could register under another name and have a second tunebook to hold tunes in but when they are so readily available to pull up on this site I don't see why it would be needed

Re: Printing select tunes?

puabi,

Here's what I've done on occasion. If you go to the sheet music view and click on the sheet music and do the following:

1. Right Click
2. Choose Save Picture As
3. Name it (it will be a gif file)
4. Goto Word
5. From the Insert menu, choose...
6. Picture
7. From file
8. Choose your file

Then you should see it in Word. Not sure why you're getting a black rectangle.

Click on the image, and make it bigger by holding the Ctrl button down and grabbing either the bottom left or bottom right corner.

Good luck!

Re: Printing select tunes?

For any screenshots e.g. a musical score I use a freeware program called Faststone capture. It's a very easy program to use, all that is required is to enclose the area you need to copy, then paste it straight into a word document such as your tune book. You dont even need to name a file or anything, just enclose the dots including title and paste it. It works for anything on the screen and makes great copy.

The link to get the software is :

Hope this helps.

Open http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html
Paste the ABC

Re: Printing select tunes?

Well, I hope anyone who tries to download and use the FastStone software has better luck than me. I just get an error message. :-( (and yes, I did unzip the files).

Re: Printing select tunes?

i find it pretty easy to just do a "print preview" and see which page has the sheet music on it. then i only print that page.... usually it's page 2 i think.... of course, if you want *only* the sheet music and can't bear to see anything else on the same page then that wont really work out...

Re: Printing select tunes?

Like Gretchen I always do a print preview, also sizing up the manuscript so as to fill the page width, and then put in the tune folder. If you're careful you can get two tunes on opposite sides of one sheet, and scissor and paste them.
I must admit I just print and save the hard copy, haven't used the tune book facility for ages.
