Re: Whistle teacher in Greensboro, NC

You might try giving a call to Michael Bell. He is located in Glendale Springs (421 toward Hickory > 16 toward Jefferson) where he owns a small music/craft store with his wife. The telephone at the store is: (336) 982-2618. He is a fantastic musician who is probably the most personable individual I have ever met. My family has known Michael and his wife Joanie since the early 80's. He plays all manner of stringed instruments, and can play circles around anyone else on the hammer dulcimer. He also sells instruments in his shop -- I'm not sure if he plays the whistle but it is very likely that he would know someone who does, and maybe someone closer to Greensboro.

If I recall, I make Glendale from the Greensboro airport in about 3 hours and change (I usually drive from FL but have flown a few times). I don't qualify that amount of time as anything more than an outing, really, and it's worth it.

and there's a great bakery next door.... :D

I sent you an email about a local session, which might be a good idea.
