ABC transposer

ABC transposer

Does anyone know if there is a way to move up and down by 1/2 steps on the abc transposer (by jensis)? If not is there another free program that will do this? Thanks

Re: ABC transposer

The only keys that it won't get you transposed to, are F#m and Bflat major. That is to say I can't imagine wanting to play Trad tunes in any other keys normally apart from what is given. You can get a 1/2 step rise from E to F.

Re: ABC transposer

Interestingly if you put in a tune in F#m you can't transpose down to Em. It just goes to E#m!

Re: ABC transposer

How about software that will transpose to another staff? I have a cellist friend that wants to check out our tunes but wants 'em on the bass clef!

Re: ABC transposer

Thanks for the link. It does the trick. I was wanting to transpose the tune John Egan's (from the album Notes from the Heart) from Em to F#m which is I believe the key that they play it in. I'll post the abc's for that John Egan tune soon as I couldn't find it in the data base

Re: ABC transposer

I think that the above link will also help your cellist friend

Re: ABC transposer

I think you would need to specify the clef to achieve that,

eg, try changing K:C to K:C clef=bass
