Missing Banjo

Missing Banjo

My son left his banjo in a cab last night. He was at the Claddagh Ring in Hendon and went to Dicey Reilly's. The cab drove off with the banjo in the boot. It is a very distinctive banjo as it has a brass resonator with a large flower etched on it. It is a D'Opera original. The case has red tape around the handle and has a few county stickers on it. There is also red tape around the tail piece. If anyone comes across the banjo please let us know - it was his 18th birthday present. It has been reported missing to the police. I am still hoping that the cab will come forward with it.

Re: Missing Banjo

Can he remember if it was a black cab? If so, try this website. Good luck! http://www.londonblackcabs.co.uk/lostprop.html

Re: Missing Banjo

It was a mini cab and I have phoned lots of different mini cabs in the area. The problem with the Claddagh Ring is touts. I am now ringing all the music shops around to tell them. I have contacted Harrow Music, Mill Hill Music Mart and Hobgoblin. I will phone Ebony and Ivory and Blanks tomorrow. If any one knows of any shops that sells second hand instruments - please let me know. Thanks for all the cab numbers.

Re: Missing Banjo

Cash Converters pawnshops are a good one to keep an eye on, as well.

Re: Missing Banjo

It is not the money it is the sentimental value and the fact that he loved the banjo so much. However, we can't afford to replace it unfortunately.

The union of Pawnbrokers have been fantastic. I e-mailed the secretary and he passed it on to all the pawnbrokers, including cash converters.

All the music shops have been great too and have taken all our details.

The Irish post are going to do a small article on it. Everyone has been so helpful.

And we are all praying to St. Anthony!!!
