While I'm quite familiar of good old ABC notation, I'm noticing a few programs working with "ABC plus" which apparently extends the functionality quite a bit such as allowing us to include lyrics in-line with the music. Has anyone used ABC plus and if so, what are your thoughts? Is it worth switching over? Good programs (preferably for Windows)?
Any of the front-end programs are sufficient for traditional one staff tunes. ABC2Win (Jim Vint) AbcNavigator 2 (JP Martin) . . . I use Joop Coolegem's AbcEdit which has a MIDI playback & generates PDF scores. The Mac users rave about Phil Taylor's Barfly. Either of these programs can handle lyrics or voices . . .
