Hello,
I've put on my tenor drone a reed made for a French Bagpipe. It's a wood body with a plastic tongue. It sounds nice and never stops.
I'd like to try a baritone and a bass one made the same way.
The Guy who made them doesn't know anything about Uilleann Pipes so he needs the dimensions.
All dimensions I could give him are for cane reeds.
Can anyone help ?
A few years ago, I saw such a drone reed on a new flat set made by the late Dave Williams.
Thanks a lot.
Regards.
Pierre
Partick Martin, Enniskeen, makes great drone reeds from plastic coke bottles. He has toured with Riverdance etc and they have never let him down. He has a web site, but I cant remember it off hand

Check David Quinn's book, The Piper's Despair. It has a section on composite drone reeds.
