Senior Ceílí Band Competition - Live!

Senior Ceílí Band Competition - Live!

For anyone tuned in at the moment, I'm broadcasting the Senior Ceílí Band competion from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann on the Comhaltas website:

http://comhaltas.ie/blog/post/senior_ceili_band_competition_live/

I'm busy with the camera, so I probably can't offer technical support if it doesn't work for you - try downloading QuickTime, if necessary.

This will be live between now (7.37pm Irish time) and when the competition ends, usually about 10.30pm Irish time. Enjoy!

Re: Senior Ceílí Band Competition - Live!

Well, I guess I'm learning as I go along! Like, be sure to set sound source to come off the pre-amp rather than the built-in mic on my laptop!

Anyway, it's been a good concert. I'll post the results here as they're announced.

Re: Senior Ceílí Band Competition - Live!

Missed the competition (and the broadcast) but caught the Allow band at around 12.00 midnight on the gig rig. A mighty band and well deserving winners! I don't know if anyone else picked up on this but their choice of tunes included mostly well known standards (eg Lucy Campbell/Mountain Top reels, Banks of Lough Gowna/Willie Coleman's jigs) and it didn't do them any harm. Proves what many of us believe that the old ones are usually best!
