for search purposes, it is spelled with two "n's" on this youtube clip. he is unbelievable. box player michael searson told me that dwyer is a musical genius, and it'[s true...this is so cool.....there's some awful singing in the middle, but dwyer plays electric guitar brilliantly at the start and then brilliant box late in the clip....
anybody know what reel he is playing on box after "bunker hill"?
here's the link, and if it doesn't transfer, keyword Finnbar Dwyer, or, clip title is:
Irish Music at the Huntercombe Pub in Slough
i asked in the "finnbar on youtube" thread and suspect plenty of people who would know, didn't go in because they weren't seeking news about accordion legends.....
anybody know what reel the legend himself is playing late in this clip on box after "bunker hill"? (after the clip opens with him on guitar, which shouldn't be missed, you can skip it forward past a wretched interlude of the publican singing and playing box, to the end where finnbar does two reels on box )....i'm wondering what tune he is playing after "bunker hill".....anybody? thank you very most kindly.

I'm still trying to find the French Waltz as advertised. You can tell that yer man singing with the box is the landlord of the pub.........and in the same company as Finbar Dwyer too.
I think it might be one of his own - I'd have to listen to his recordings again. I've a feeling Marcas O'Murchu recorded this - the 2nd part is familiar.
False alarm - it's not "Spring Well". I was right though - O'Murchu has recorded it - ie the "Youtube" reel after "Bunker Hill" - on his first CD, but it doesn't show up in the listings. It's a 3rd reel on track 2 after the "Tyrone Ashplant", but there are only 2 tunes mentioned. [ He did record "Spring Well" too, which was why I assumed that was the tune. ] I have 3/4 of it transcribed - will try to post it tomorrow.
hi, kenny---yes, i checked that track on my finbar cd today and see that it is not "the spring well." ....though "hill 60/the spring well" is a cool track in its own way. you are transcribing? wow!
No it ain't. Thanks to Dow for pointing out my mistake. The 2nd part is quite like "EO'B's" but the first part is different. Should have checked. Back to the drawing board. Sorry about that ceemonster.

Re: Finnbar Dwyer on Youtube
Dow has already posted this tune - it's "Eileen O'Brien's". I've added the "abcs" for it from Marcas O'Murchu's recording.
