Hi, hopefully someone can reply to me before they take this post away!
I was here yesterday asking about sessions in Dublin during the week and posted it in the Discussions Forum. I would put it in the Sessions category but it looks like that's only meant for notices of sessions that are actually happening. So, I was wondering where can I actually ask about sessions without my posts being taken down? This is the second time this has happened to me! Sorry for any hassle. Cheers
Please read the discussion submission guidelines (above the discussion submission form) before submitting a discussion. I'm afraid that if you ignore a guideline, there's a good chance that your discussion submission will be deleted.
One of the guidelines is:
"If you are looking for a session in a particular area, please do not start a discussion. Instead, try searching in the Sessions section. If that produces no results, try searching in the Members section for the name of the town or area you are interested in. You can then contact people from that place directly."
Hope that's clear.
I'll probably delete this discussion too after a little while just because it's kind of off-topic and well, not really open to discussion.
Thanks for the reply Jeremy. Yep, looks like I have to harass some of the good people here to find out about the sessions.
I'll speed up my work here and I'll hopefully earn some more free internet time!
It'd be great to get a catalogue going of regular sessions, you know where everyone can add the ones that they know about.
Not knocking this site obviously, it's a great resource. Thanks a lot :D
It's worth remembering that some sessions aren't listed here, because the people involved don't want to list them, and thus make them too public, apart from those people who are ignorant of this forum.
The listings here are a good start though, and any contact names and numbers are well worth pursuing
Looking for a session? Look no farther then www.folkjam.org. Put in your city and it'll show all the listed jam sessions in 70 miles. What a great utility!
