We like Liverpool with Cronin's (Probably overplayed but they're dear old friends that came for a visit and now won't leave), the Greencastle with Alexander's, and Stack of Barley with the Wonder.
Does anyone else like/play the sweep's? I think of it affectionately, as a sort of "Vaudeville" type h'pipe, silly, touching, amusing and yet with an underlying jaunty insouciance.
Maybe it's just the ludicrous way I play it. If you can imagine the late Max Wall playing tunes with his tights, if you see what I mean.
Keep them coming, please, ignore me!
I like the Sweeps (to me it's the Belfast), not least because it sounds clever but is in fact quite easy to play - a combination that gave me confidence when playing in folk clubs yonks ago.

followed by the flowing tide. Lovely!
Other favourite hornpipe combos?

Re: sweeps
Poll Ha'penny / Miss Galvin's is a nice changeover on Mary Bergin's whistle album "Feadog Stain".

Re: sweeps
I always play the Derry or depending which foot you tap with, The Londonderry Hornpipe before The Belfast. (Sweeps). They just seem to go together
