Since being told I am to play at the All-Ireland fleadh, I seemed to have forgotten about arranging some accomodation (with all the excitement since this is my first ever year in competitions!). I was wondering if anyone could help me out finding a place to stay over the weekend.
I also want to know if anyone's got a map of the area, and an actual address where the fleadh is being held. It would be a great help to me
Scrappy, the competitions are held in various locations around town. You'll need to go to the Fleadh office to register first, and they'll be able to tell you where.
As far as accomodations, trying to find them through the Fleadh web site has been a complete bust. Since both of my competitions are on the same day (and at the same time!), I'll be commuting in by train and/or bus for just the day. If I were driving, I'd park the car several train stations away -- parking in Tullamore promises to be a complete mess.
I'm told (but I don't know from recent personal experience) that if you show up at the the office, they'll try to find you somewhere to stay. If you're young and resillient you'll have better luck. You might consider bringing a small tent and sleeping bag, or at least a sleeping bag, as you may end up sleeping on someone's floor.

Scrappy,
The Fleadh office is at Woodchester House, O'Connor Square. The Fleadh web page http://www.fleadh2007.com/Index.php?Page=Home
has some information, but (last I looked) not the competition schedule. I was able to get a quick answer about my competition times and locations by emailing info@fleadh2007.com Be sure to ask them for the address of your competition venue and registration location (I think they will be the same place).
The Fleadh Office usually has an accommodation section which caters for people arriving with nowhere to go. They normally have lists of people offering B&B for the Fleadh weekend.

Say the sh*t hits the fan and I have no where to stay over the weekend, then how would I go about getting some form of accomodation?
