the annual irish festival was stellar as usual, and the sessions went to the wee hours and life was grand! here is a set of two tunes that happened on the main stage saturday nite after the main acts were done...
teada, cathy ryan band, aoife clancy and robbie o'connell and friends, and so many more folks! the song that followed was great too, but the video was not worthy, so we didn't post it...
enjoy! and check in on the annual festival next year. montana is a good place for itm these days!!!

Generally speaking, Maud Millar and Eileen Curran go together, but the version of Eileen Curran on here is different. Unless I'm way off target (quite possible.)

I will second the vote for good craic. I got a chance to spend some time with trad2nz (btw, your present was unexpected and made me feel all warm and fuzzy!), and finally got to meet Georgi. The Saturday craic was ninety. That was the third time that week that I saw the sun lighten the sky before heading to bed.

Cheers to Damien and Georgi for deciding that playing tunes with us all night was more important than sleep ;-)

And thanks to CPT for hosting me for the week! Now off to practice the plethora of new tunes that I learned...

Re: Good craic in Butte America last weekend at An Ri Ra

sorry friends, you have to tell some of us where Butte is! I have even lived on the prairie for 20 years. It is a large country, remember. Is this an annual thing? Must've been locked up with my harp too long. however am on the other side of the puddle now, at least as many years.

sounds great, I need to know more so I can plan it in!

Hey trad2nz, I did receive the flask - that's what I was referring to that was unexpected and made me feel all warm and fuzzy... You guys are great. I look forward to my next trip up your way! :D

Hi Suz,
Here is a link to this years fest,,
http://www.mtgaelic.org/festival1.html
In the past there has been Lunasa , Solas , Cherish the Ladies and others. Early next springtime the new lineup will be finalized, its always exciting to anticipate who's coming next as the facilitators have great taste in Irish music and culture.
You can search on 'Butte, Montana' for lots of info about this town with a strong Irish miner heritage that experienced the boom and bust cycle of the mining industry. All the best,,,

Aha, Georgi. But I'm pretty sure the title was EC on Back to the Glen by Shaskeen.
Molloy's Favourite? Sounds like a made-up name if you ask me...or at least a name made up cos no-one could remember the proper name......which isn't Eileen Curran either...oh dear dear...

:-)

Re: Good craic in Butte America last weekend at An Ri Ra

Don't have that album (at least I don't THINK I do), but all the folks on stage there all knew exactly what to play when I shouted "next!", so it's gotta be at least a *little* common as a "next in set"

:)
