So I lost 10 quid in a poker game tonight, which means that tomorrow I must go to the streets and busk until I make back at least my 10 pounds. More would be nice, but so long as I break even I'm happy. I once made 8 pounds in an hour here, at a really sh*te time of day for busking, so this is easily achievable so long as the weather behaves itself.
The reason I am announcing it here is that I really will do it if there's a promise in writing where millions of people will see it. I've been trying to make myself busk for months but have been too lazy/busy to be schlepping pipes into town.
If you're still in Durham, try it in the late evening on Framwelgate Bridge next to the steps going down to the Coach And Eight, on a Friday or Saturday, or maybe somewhere else where the "evening economy" is busy. In my very limited experience people then are quite likely to be freer with their pound coins than during the day. Mind, you may get some lip..!
I made 11 pounds, so in fact have a profit margin of a pound. I only played for like an hour as well. If you made 10 quid a day, you could make 70 quid a week doing this and that could pay the rent (in 20p coins, but whatever). Beats a real job.
Have you paid tax on this income? Ms Spear
I work for the Inland Revenue .You can post your tax to me c/o Newcastle Irish Centre. Cash or cheques made payable to’ the David and Joe Buy a Pint Fund.'(reg charity 17/3/07)

It was Texas Hold 'em, the only way to play.
And that is Ms. Spear.

Re: Because I really am that lame
I went all in on a two pair and the guy who went all in with me got his inside straight on the river. W*nker.
And that was the BEST hand I'd had all bloody evening. I need to be making more sacrifices to the poker gods, see if that sorts out my luck.
Dave,
Hopefully I'll see Joe on Wednesday. Maybe I'll buy him a pint. Depends on how many poker games I lose between now and then.
