I hope those who go to the Burren get the message that those blue gentians shouldn't be dug up, not only because it's wrong but because they invariably die: their roots are very long and thready, and the plant cannot stand them being broken. Bought pot-reared from a specialist nursery, they are not that difficult to grow. We have them wild in the North of England, too.

Just hope not too many folk flock to the Burren and other places shown on this episode just becaust 'it's been on the telly'.
