My band, áthas, will be releasing our debut album next month. We've just put up 4 tracks on our myspace profile, so go have a listen ;) http://www.myspace.com/athas
Nice playing, but hey guys.... it isn't about the guitar. And it isn't about the bodhran. They should be way back in the mix.
I agree with Boojum. An intro with chorded guitar, made even less bearable when the bodhran starts to thump, is cliché at this point.
Wow, alotta thanks ya got there, Doc, for free .mp3's! You continue playing your way. Music is an art form. Let them put out their own CD's & mp3's if they think they have better ideas. I've been to your MySpace page before, at the recommendation of a big fan of yours in Milwaukee, and what I really liked about your music is that apparently you don't feel the need to race through tunes, and I can enjoy the beauty of each one.
Suzanne,
Boojum and Cocus gave their time to listen to Dr Funk's tracks, and gave some very friendly constructive criticisms.
Why do they have to 'put out their own CD's & mp3's if they think they have better ideas'?
I'm sure Dr. F didn't just post the link to the tracks because he wanted his arse licked(!)
more free tunes!

Also, TJ Hull and I have a new clip up on our duo page--we'll be getting our CDs next week: http://www.myspace.com/tjhullandjeffk
Been a busy time this summer ;)

Re: more free tunes!
It's not unpleasant, though I find the intros at least twice as long as they should be.
