I have been asked to play an air (I think it is actually a hymn, but they want a solo instrumental) at a wedding, on the Uilleann Pipes, called "Ag CrÍost an SÍol".
I was wondering if some kind individual could submit the music for this tune, or perhaps a link to where it can be found? Sheetmusic or ABC, it's all good.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all you wonderful people, and if you are one of the people who are only reading this thread because you could'nt understand the title, let me be the first to say; Job done.
lamh trom we are not that thick in Ireland Its a beautiful hymn and a great choice for a wedding . Its a Sean O Riada tune and its on Mise Eire. So just searh O riada and you ll find lots of examples.
Ag Críost an síol, ag Críost an fómhar,
In iothalainn Dé go dtugtar sinn,
Ag Críost an síol, ag Críost an t’iasc,
I líonta Dé go gcastar sinn,
O fhás go haois is ó aois go bás,
Do dhá lámh a Chríost, anall tharainn.
O bhás go críoch, Ní críoch ach ath-fhás,
I bPárthas na nGrást go raibhaimid.
Thóg mé mo chuid ama, ach tá mé ar ais
Thóg mé mo chuid ama, ach tá mé ar ais
