Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
Not for music, but once I booked in for a prof development for what I thought was a Friday. When I fronted up I found it had already been held on Wednesday. Easily done, I feel for you. Better luck next time.
Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
I once turned up for a school trip (a weekend away) with all my stuff for the weekend packed in bags only to feel like a right fool when it turned out to be the following week we were going - thank God we were told to come in in our school uniforms. My mum was most surprised when I turned up at home that night!
(Shhhh - don't tell anyone. It can be our little secret!)
Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
That is annoying! I'm not going this year, but I've been several times, and to my knowledge Willie Week has always started on the first week in July. It's the reason you don't have to think about the date - it just is. Now that they've changed it once (even if it's only a one-off) there will always be a doubt.
Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
Willie week IS and always has been the first FULL week in July Sat - Sat. As the 1st July was Sunday this year the 1st Sat is NEXT Sat. Therefore nothing has changed.

I feel like a right t*t. Why is Willie Clancy Week the second week in July this year?

Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
I nearly did. My understanding is that it starts on the first Saturday in July, which this year is the 7th.

Re: Did anybody else book time off for the wrong dates
Agreed. I've been going for 26 years and It's always been the first Saturday of July, whenever that falls, to the second (and a bit).

Glad to hear it's still the same as usual - one less thing to remember! Just a misunderstanding I guess.

Look on the bright side, there will be less drunken eejits for the first weekend this year as they will all be heading to "oxegen" (poxy gen)!
