Murphy Roche Irish Music Club invites you to the release party of its second CD: "Twos & Threes".
Wednesday, February 26, 2003
from 7:30 to 11 pm
at the Kerry Piper Irish pub
The Kerry Piper is in Willobrook (7900 Joliet Road) across from Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket. Take I-55 to Route 83 North. At the first light, turn right, then right again in front of the Holiday Inn. Go to the stop sign. The Kerry Piper is on your right.
This sounds like a cool event. Chicago is a little out of my stomping grounds so I won't be in attendance. With all the work of producing a CD behind you a celebration is well in order. I hope everyone has a splendid time.
Good to learn that you found recording a pleasant experience. Having stepped into the "humilitron" once or twice myself I've felt all sorts of emotions upon hearing the playback.
The term "release" fits multidimensionally.
Would a listener hear your playing on this recording?
Gra5ity (Which I pronounce like the force. Too much reading of Neil Stephenson novels!)
Yes, it will be interesting, and i haven't heard anything yet, since the club leaders are keeping the CD as a surprise until the release party. But, assuming my microphone didn't get turned down or off in the mix , i should be in four tracks with the rest of the group (large group tracks) and one more with a small group (box, fiddle and me on flute). Then there are another 9 or 10 tracks with other small groups. I'll post the CD in the recordings area after i get it.
This is more "produced" than the first CD, they seem to have gone for a mellower tone. But the result is very enjoyable, it was worth the wait.
If anybody's interested, you can get the CD through the Murphy Roche club: http://www.murphyroche.com
We may have some sound clips in that Web site soon too.

Good luck and congratulations, Glauber. I won't be able to make it, but I'll tilt a dark, frothy one in your honor this evening, how's that?

It was fun, a lot of noise and (horror!) amplified instruments. Here's the link for the CD:
