I'm having trouble with abc2win
Sometimes it says the tune is too big to fit on the page, and just refuses
That's tunes off here I mean.
other times it just crashes altogether
It's only a few months I think since the last discussion about this , but I didn't quite find my answer there. Any other programs you can recommend? I know about tune-o-tron
, was looking for a resident program
I can't always have music playing and I do like some dots to look at now and then
Features:
Multiple files can be simultaneously opened
Select/Copy/Paste/move/edit tunes
Keys and Rythmes filters
Abc editor with Syntax Highlighting
Fast sheet music / staff notation Viewer
Play tunes through your sound card
Save tune as a Midi File
Sets playlist support
Print tunes functions
Abc2Win is a dinosaur but I would like to encourage you to write Jim Vint about any bugs.
With that said I use AbcEdit http://home.quicknet.nl/qn/prive/j.coolegem/abcedit.html
Joop is always responsive if you have any problems.
Hey - Navigators "who ya' gonna call when ya' got bugs?'
Short of that the Navi's love their software.
Abc Navigator is an intuitive program. It is fairly easy to use.
Give it a spin. It has always been a mystery why it has no help files. I liked the 'quick help' in Abc2Win.
Try Navigator. You can always ask questions here if you need help. The MIDI playback is a huge improvement over Abc2Win.
I use AbcEdit. The # 1 problem with AbcNav2 is the lack of any support. Might check your operating system's volume control synthesizer.
Someone here can tell you if it is Navigator. Maybe feardearg. Check out his post above. Sorry if I made it sound like everyone using JP Martin's program is satisfied.;)
What I am really cringing about is i wrote, "you can always ask questions here if you need help."

Chris Walshaw has all things abc :

& Guido Gonzato has a very thorough abc manual

Re: another ABC question
Who did the Navigators called when they didn't find a help file?

Re: another ABC question
Thanks. Is there a reason why "the NAvis" love their software, but presumably not everyone? Is it quirky, takes time to master etc?

Re: another ABC question
ABC Nav intuitive? HELL NO!
I still can't get it to make so much as a peep from midi. I'm really annoyed with it.
