Hi all, I'm hopefully going to be a steward at cambridge this year (not sure what exactly that entails) but I'm not sure whether to get a ticket and stay in the festival grounds or go to the campsite 3 miles away for free which I get anyway. What's the atmosphere like at this other place, should I just get the cambridge ticket for £63?
Both sites have their advantages ... Festival grounds means that you don't have to bother walking very far. Alternatively the other camp site is more spacious and the free bus runs very frequently ... last time I camped there I got woken up by some hippy girl playing ... or trying to play 'Stairway to Heaven' at 4 'O' clock in the morning! Oh I love festivals ... Friendly tip .. If you have a car you can get a shower at the local swimming baths rather than using the ones on site which were not great.
I used to live next to Coldhams Common where one of the camp sites is and walking past there during the festival there was always a big cloud of dope smoke drifting out of the place - I don't know whether that would be a plus or a minus to you but I wouldn't stay there. I have stayed in tents on the Cherry Hinton Hall site a few times though and I always had a great time and no problems.

And what is stewarding like?
Thanks all.
