I have recently discovered the wealth of concertina talent on the Comhaltas site. I'd like to be able to play the tunes whenever I like without being online and without the buffering delays. I tried to download and save them, but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to do this? The files seem to be a .swf
It should work with any browser, as long as you can see the source code. One thing I have noticed lately is that I have to refresh the page in order to view the source code (in IE).
If you're interested in the audio from the ComhaltasLive programmes, I've also started posting the audio tracks as a podcast on the iTunes Music Store (though the podcasts are free, of course!)

Re: Downloading Comhaltas videos
The files are .flv (Flash video). I´ve described my method for grabbing them here: http://www.thesession.org/discussions/display/13606/comments#comment281139

Thanks, very clear, one addition, doesn't seem to work in Firefox. IE works however...

Re: Downloading Comhaltas videos
With Firefox you can get a plugin called UnPlug which identifies the media file and gives you the option to download. It seems to work really well.

This link requires that you have iTunes installed, but if you do you can have the daily audio copied onto your iPod or PC automatically.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! It took some exploring, but I've succeeded in saving my first Comhaltas and youtube videos.
