BBC 'Listen Again' archives to mp3

BBC 'Listen Again' archives to mp3

The link is for a program which saves archived BBC shows as MP3 (in the 'Listen Again' section).

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bbc2mp3/

Recently there was a discussion about saving YouTube and other streaming video to the hard drive, and I thought this was similar and might be useful to someone. I haven't put it in the links section, I wasn't sure where it would fit (there isn't a spot for software which may or may not be useful in the pursuit of ITM.. :) ). I couldn't find it in the old discussions, and someone else likely has a thousand better ways to rip the audio, maybe even a Firefox plugin, but if there isn't then that's why I have posted this here.

The program is a beta version and two years old, I'm keeping that in mind. I haven't yet tried it, but plan on messing around with it later this week. Hopefully, I can reclaim the in-studio Mike Scott/Steve Wickham performance that I missed last year....

Not familiar with that one, but a Firefox plugin called UnPlug is good.

Re: BBC 'Listen Again' archives to mp3

I use Audacity for this type of recording, which I picked up from one of the session threads. I find it agreat programme and usually switch it on for live prgrammes as well as archive stuff. I can edit the stuff later and save any bits I like in mp3, 4 wav etc. The ability to slow tunes down, change pitch and a host of other editing features etc are other added advantages.....

If you have a Creative soundcard (internal or USB external) you should have with it the Creative Smart Recorder software which I find is ideal for recording from various sources - streaming internet, LPs, tape, mic. It allows you to save the recording in whatever format you want.
