Pity you were not there last year as they double booked the camp site with a circus We had elephants wandering round the camp site at one point .

Re: music schools/ weekends/weeks in NI and nearby

So there I was in my tent asleep dreaming of ..well lets not go there . Anyway I hear this loud rumbling noise like lots of lorries I roll over thinking it must be a traffic jam but it doesn’t stop so I look at the time 7:15 the noise gets louder and I hear someone playing the trumpet very badly or it could be a bugle. That’s it I thought time to investigate I look out of the tent and the first thing I notice are the pair of elephants being led though the campsite followed by a pair of Dromedaries (that’s the two humped Camel from Asia ).
Now let us be clear I had a drink at the very good session in Naties the night before (will I get a free pint with this advertisement?)but it was not the drink. I shook myself looked further around to see trucks marked ‘International Circus’ . Yes the GAA had double booked the festival campsite with a circus.
Ten mins later the camels escaped from the handlers and were running down the road into Tubber Oh how I wish I had the chance to phone the Guard, I can imagine how the conversation might go.
ME”.I wish to report an accident”
Guard. “And what accident would that be Sir?”
ME. “Well a camel has just caused a crash in Tubbercurry High Street”
Guard “And how much have you been drinking Sir?”
And so on.
Later on that day the Elephants got out of the field they were in and were wandering round the camp site looking for food under the flysheets followed by about 20 children in awe and disbelief .
Will they be there this year ? Don’t know.
