Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!
Dear Folks,
Hold onto your sense of Catholic morality and yer' grannie's knickers cos' we're BACK BACK BACK back back bac.......
Thanks to funds that were freed up from the unsucessful election campaign of independant candidate Sean LeDoor ( Co. Laois National Socialist Party, Chairman of Ulster Scots Renumeration Coucil), we are able to bring you another interstellar line-up to rival the, admitedly vibrant, schedule that the Irish Countrywomans Association have lined up in the parish hall that weekend.
Back by popular demand we have the one, the only Remains of Sammy Davis Jr. with Dean Martin Big Band and, due to the rest of the pack not thawing favourably, a number of well known dead celebrities with rats. The lads will be doing some of their best known numbers including covers of De Danan covering Irish-associated rock band Queen, covers of Irish-associated folk band Four Men and A Dog doing rap, and covers of themselves doing covers of Kate Frisby songs in the style of DeDannan covering them doing songs in the style of Kate Frisby as interpreted instrumentally by Flook.
Scots Indie Progressive Acid Folk act, The Prosthetics, play Thursday night at the local Fine Gael advice centre; this promises to be a poignient performance coming as it does so soon after the lads were involved in another tragic song writing accident: they barely escaped, but their poor mother was unable to fight her way free from the suprise blizzard of 'hate mail' letters from America that poured unannounced through the door of her humble, council flat overlooking Beverly Hills.
Other bands on the line-up include: The famous Co. Offaly Abba tribute act "Loo Water", and the Co. Antrim Ulster Scots/ Bob Dylan tribute band "Mr. Tangerine Man" , and, to broaden the scope on the Traditional Arts there will be an historical interpretive afternoon discussing the relative values of sleeve notes on Lunasa CDs 2004-2006 to be conducted by eminant Irish music historian and daytime radio broadcastor Gerry Ryan.
The remainder of the festival acts will be confirmed pending an innovative RTE reality show where a panel consisting of talent scouts from all over the British Isles, Cabaret Managers, Working Men's Club owners, Michael O'Suiliwaaaan, Germaine Greer, Gordon Brown and other Irish traditional music luminaries will choose top acts on a 'nakedness for exposure' basis. (Please look out for your voting card in the Irish Sun, we've put it on page 2 to ensure that readers will not loose it in the post page 3 filler... DO NOT MISTAKE IT FOR THE DRIPPLE GUARD OR, em, "EXITEMENT DRYING WIPE").
On a slightly more lack lustre note, it has come to our attention that several well-meaning but integrally bad people have been criticising our efforts here in Ballyblister over the last year or so; this has caused a lot of hurt but more importantly, in fact, it has effected our funding from the Arts Council of Ireland; we recieved a signifigant increase in state funding due to what The Coucil described as "our contribution to the bouirth of a croitical loinguage in the troaditionoal orts", so, to our detractors I say a warm "thank you" , our TDs and business representitves will be the first to slap our Arts adminisrating friends in the capital on the back when we spot them at our next county fleadh or high brow Country & Irish music event.
It only remains for me to wish you a safe journey to our little town, and to remind you to bring your geiger counter and gas 'craic' mask cos this baby is squirtin' ya in the eye like a love-leak from Sellafield, and we know yer luvvin it!!!
Kind regards,
Father Bud Light,
Spiritual Advisor,
Ballyblister Cash for Ceol Committee,
Ballyblister.

Next Thursday? Sorry, can't make it. Got a three-line whip fiddle workshop in the evening.
Is there another one after the 2012 Olympics? My manager tells me my engagement diary is full until then.
Re: Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!
Harry let me know when you write your first book. I'd bet you might get an Arts Council grant for that "contribution to the bouirth of a croitical loinguage in the troaditionoal orts".
Re: Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!
Dear Father Bud Lightyear,
The one thing you ommitted to ferget to mention was the how much do the price of the tickets cost?
And when are the dates for this event happenning?
I have several funerals booked from now till November and I'm the man that has the holes dug.
And another thing what about parking? Where can I be able to park the JCB?
By the Way, a de Dannaan tribute band is no big deal nowadays. You get them ten a penny in these socalled sessions, and sometimes ye can get up to 3 or 4 of these bands all playing at onced, I was under the impression Dedannann had only five or so members, and you can have alot more than five at a session.
Re: Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!
It sounds like just the event Ireland needs to boot it into the century, but where, oh where, is the Val Doonican Traditional Orchestra Quartet?
Other than that slight omission - Luvvin' It Large!!!
Re: Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!

Sit down father, your drool is stringin' all over the deep pile carpet and you look that close to throwing your cookies... There father, here's a hair of that dog again fur yeez...
Re: Sub Atomic, String Theorem Affirming, Divinity Revealing Hyper Mega Giga Fleadh!!
Sounds great.
Having said that we were once replaced by Newry and Mourne St Paddy's Day festival in Newry by a Michael Jackson Tribute Band. True. A friend said it was because it was a family day out and the tribute band played with kids.

By the way, as a piece of satire, which we thought died when they gave Henry Kissinger the Nobel peace prize, this is excellent.
I will need to argue with Harry about something else.
