It turns out that the "Celtic Folkweave" album is to be re-released on the Kissing Spell Label. I've never heard of this label before, so I'll reserve judgment until I hear the album. I can only assume that it is not taken from the original masters, as these are supposed to be lost. Does anybody know anymore about this?
Just on a point of information..................Celtic folkweave was an album originally released by Mick Hanly and Micheal O'Donnell, on Polydor records. Donal Lunny and Triona ni Dhomhnaill amongst others played on it. It's available on pre-order on amazon uk and well worth the money!
i know nothing of the provenance of the masters, but somebody must have been minding a master of the final mix.
It's great to see labels interested in releasing old gems like this.
I very much doubt that this is a legitimate re-issue, but I'll stand corrected if whoever runs Kissing Spell can send me a copy of Mick Hanly's letter of agreement to this re-release. I doubt that such exists.
