Liam O'Flynn has such a great rhythm though. There's no doubt about that! I like the way he manages to succesfully changed Paddy Fahy's in G dorian to G major to fit onto the pipes.
Maybe not their best performance, but even when they gave a 'bad' performance, they were still head and shoulders above any other group. Having said that, I don't believe they ever gave a bad performance. Television sound technology wasn't at its best way back then—not on RTÉ anyway and the camera shots weren't very imaginative.
I think they did a very good rendititon of 'Rambling Boys of Pleasure' and 'Goodship Kangaroo'.
Planxty have never been bettered in Irish folk music and never will.

This was shown a few months ago, not their best performance, I reckon that Planxty has run out of steam at this stage
