Satrting to think about this year's Fleadh in Tullamore. Never done much in Tullamore except go to hurling games there...Always thought that it was a "get in and out of fairly quickly" kind of town. What's the vibe about the place?? Hope it's not going to be like Clonmel, wasn't much a fan.
I've been involved with the fleadhanna for the last 35 years and judging by the enthusiasm of the local committee in Tullamore we're in for a great time. There's quite a lot of traditional music in the town every week. James Hogan has a session every Thursday night.
Sounds good. You wouldn't know if any knows where the camping fraternity will be posted this year...sometimes have the best fun in the campsite at some of the fleadh's! one spot that springs to mind is that large field behind the Community centre accross the road from the hurling pitch (Stadium).

As I've noted here before, Tullamore is most definitely not a "get in and out of fairly quickly" sort of place, depending on what you mean by 'fairly quickly'. Suggest if you go to Fleadh there that you stay as close to town centre as poss. and walk everywhere. Driving around Tullamore requires lots of patience!!

Well Wounded Hussar, suppose we may not have been aware of Tullamore's attractions thus far!...will give it a good go this year though!!
Suppose I'll need the magic compass as usual to find the session!!
