Coming to Prince Edward Island: But where are the sessions?????
Coming to Prince Edward Island: But where are the sessions?????
Hi all:
I will be staying in Charlottetown for the month of July. I was mightily surprised to find that there are no sessions listed herein for PEI... Where do folks play on the island???
Re: Coming to Prince Edward Island: But where are the sessions?????
There is a regular session on Fridays in the Evangeline region, Acadian music mostly, very welcoming to new faces. I'm not sure if they will go all summer or not, and I think there is a session on Sunday afternoons at Brennan's Pub in Charlottetown. You could talk to Roy Johnstone about that. He has a website if you google his name, you should find it. The best jams are house parties and there are usually lots of those going on.
I live in PEI, in case that didn't give it away, send me an email and I'll hook you up,
Anastasia

I visited the north shore last year of PEI, and every little hamlet had a ceiligh-there was no difficulty finding one every night with miminal (say 15 miles) driving. Don't have a memory, but I'll go look at a map and report back. These are "performances" not sessions, but I'd expect you could hook up with folks afterwards and have a session/house party.
