Just heard the sad news this morning on Radio Scotland. Traditional music has lost a great player and a great character. RIP, Peerie Willie.

Sad news indeed - one of the innovators in traditional music, who inspired so many of the people who inspired me. RIP.

Worst news I've heard for a long time. Only spoke to him a couple of times, in the Lounge or at the festivals, but he was always nice to me, funny, perpetually smiling - and could he swing or what?
