Long shot .................mandolin 'mentor' @ Cambridge UK

Long shot .................mandolin 'mentor' @ Cambridge UK

Another hopeful request from a newcomer to both the Session and Mandolin playing. Does anyone know of a mandolin teacher - or patient player, in the Cambridge (UK) area?

Just started playing mandolin after many 'happy' years plucking a guitar - I want to make sure I don't embed too many bad habits. Also does any one know of any 'friendly' sessions in my my area that put up with 'quiet' beginners? Cheers B

drbodhran,

have you been to www.mandolincafe.com yet? they have a section listing instructors, or you could post your question in the discussion area.

it's an extremely helpful, nice bunch of folks there...if they can help you, they will.

Try the Boat Race sessions - they're very welcoming to all. I know of someone you could contact who taught me mandolin at school. Drop me a line and I'll e-mail you his number.
