NUI Galway

NUI Galway

I have a son of a friend of mine who is doing a semester abroad at NUI Galway. I'd like to tell his mom the good stuff, the music, the sights, the climate... that he can look forward to. He's not a musican, that I know. He'll be going this September for the fall term. He is majoring in psychology ( don't they all...)

If I were going, its UP playing and lessons, fiddle and lessons... , gaelic language studies...did someone say school?

Re: NUI Galway

The trad. music club at the uni used to have a session every tues downstairs at the crane. My sister and I used to go down quite regularly when we lived in Galway, it was always awesome fun and great tunes and lovely people... Pretty much all students or around that age...

Re: NUI Galway

There's a thriving Juggling society at NUIG, started by my wife's nephew!
It's a great town, though it's lost its parochial feel. It's a buzzing cosmopolitan place, with lots to see, lots to do, lots of art, music, people and events to interest anybody.
But the water's bad. Very Bad.
