Just going through some comments on posted tunes, and came across info regarding an old band featuring some of the Leahys and also Eileen Ivers, called Ground Plan. Anyone know if they recorded anything, and where I might be able to get more info on this band?
Excellent flute player based near New York City; Northern Ireland/Roscommon style with uilleann piping techniques and a flowing style.
Co-founded the group "Ground Plan" in the 1980's with sister Andi Leahy; Eileen Ivers also played in the band. Look for her in NYC sessions at Mona's and Paddy Reilly's.
CDs and website in the works; details will be added here as they become available.
Irishfiddler .......I am in touch with Fionnghuala. She is not on this site as far as I know. She and Andrea still play together but not out, they are twins, Fionnghuala lives in NJ and Andi in in Maryland. With a built in musical family like htese two, who needs to go out to play! They do see each other often. Both are busy moms, and I have been trying to find some time to coordinate and meet up with them for a while. This reminds me to give F. a little nudge to get out and play.
Contact me off list if you want. Caesar Pacifici, the guitar player who was super BTW.... used to play with Flying Cloud, Dan Milner, Tony DeMarco and Brian Brooks. Ah.... the old Eagle Tavern Days!
