Currently i have a castagnari kriss 4 accordian. Its very heavy weighing at 5,200kg. I was wondering if anybody knew any accordians which were fast, light and and made a nice sound, with at the most 3 couplars. In the region of 1000- 2000 pounds
Using this scale of measurement, I weigh about 132 short tons, if I have done my calculations correctly. What a depressing thought. At that point, I would start creating my own personal gravitation field. Sigh......
In non-Anglophone Europe, the roles of the decimal point ( . ) and the comma ( , ) in numerals are reversed,
i.e. 25 X 100 = 2.500 and 15 / 2 = 7,5
However, Castagnari succeeded in compounding the ambiguity by (entirely unnecessarily) sticking two noughts on the end. There's a big difference between 5,0 bags of sugar in Marseilles and 5,000 in Leighton Buzzard.
If they're selling at £2.0, I'll buy one. A Castagnari, that is.
Check out Allodi Accordions in London, he stocks Fantini who produce lightweight compact accordions. Some specially tuned for Folk music. I own a Fantini SP01 folk which is a 72 bass fitted into a 48 bass case with the top bass row set to C# it is perfect for carrying around to sessions. Not cheap however.

"Its very heavy weighing at 5,200kg"
That *is* a little on the heavy side. Do you mean 5.2kg?

If you are finding the Kriss 4 too heavy, then maybe you should downsize?

Re: accordions
You're bound to be able to get one between £1,000 and £2,000 that weighs less than 5 tonnes, surely

Re: accordions
I think Tom is looking for a button accordion. Do Fantini make them?

Re: accordions
I've heard people oft complain about the teaching of maths these days, Tom but that's a good one!! I assume you're going for a heavy sound, man

Re: accordions
A three or two voice perhaps? That should take some weight off.
