Buying Fiddles In The North Of Scotland

Buying Fiddles In The North Of Scotland

I'm looking to buy a relatively old fiddle within the next 2 weeks. I've had suggestions of places to go including Charlie Webster, in Abriachan. Is this one of the best places to go or does anyone know of anywhere else? Thanks.

Try contacting Duncan Dyker - Inverness I think. He may be able to advise you. Sorry, but I don't have contact details, but if you google him, or try the phone book I'm sure you'll track him down pretty quickly.

Another contact might be Karen Stevens - she's one of the musicians with Dannsa. You might try her own website, or the Dannsa website:

Good luck.

I bought a fantastic old German fiddle from Charlie Webster about three years ago having had him recommended to me by some respected players, and would strongly recommend him myself.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the Karen Stevens website.
Quite a few people have recommended Charlie Webster now. Think I might go take a look!

Good luck. Please note that the names I gave above are people who may be able to point you in the direction of sources of fiddles in the North of Scotland. I'm not aware of Karen actually selling fiddles however, I do know that Duncan has made some before.

Don't worry, I understood. I went and got the fiddle today. Lovely old French one. Has such a nice sound compared to my old one! Would definately recommend people to go there!
