Track 9 on the latest Doonan Family Band CD (Manna From Hebburn) is called Women of Ireland. It is a medley of an air followed by a reel. The reel is Maid Behind the Bar - no problem. Does anyone know the name of the air? Cheers.
Re: Name of an air on latest Doonan Family Band CD?
I don't know the album but presumably the track is called "Women of Ireland" after the air. There is a very popular air by this name, more commonly known by its Irish translation "Mna na hEireann".
I think it might actually be a Sean O' Riada composition but don't quote me on that.
