whistle teacher in Sydney Australia wanted

i ibeen on my whistle now for about 8 months and am using grey larsens whistle books. they are very good but i really feel the need for instructions on the finer points of rhythm , articulations and general playing practice. Plus it would be an added bonus if i could be taught music theory .

Re: whistle teacher in Sydney Australia wanted

Do you ever go to any sessions around sydney- I cant think of any purely whistle players but there are a fair few people who play other things and the whitsle as well. Maybe email
" late in the evening " throught this website - he plays flute and whistle - not sure if he's taking students but he would know who would do.
There are a few session quite near you as well - Newtown, Paddington etc.
Looks like we are in for another huge storm - are we allowed to be on the interent? Or is it like being on the phone?

Re: whistle teacher in Sydney Australia wanted

Hi Jay,

You know what? You could get many, many, many Toohey's Olds under your belt, and then head out to the Cross on Saturday night. You'll whistle at anything, trust me. You know you're good when people stop yeliing back at you and start going home with you. That's certainly how I learnt to whistle in Sydney, before promptly being sick in the gutter somewhere on William Street.

bb, the storm's just hit me here in Castle Hill. Just keep heading west where nothing ever happens, weather included...
