I caught a flash of this by complete serendipity on ABC TV tonight (anything worthwhile I see on TV is serendipity ... we have grown cats who panic when the TV is turned on because they don't remember what it is ...)
Thanks fellas - I always dreamed of playing with Trouble in the Kitchen in the kitchen....baddaboom......anhyhoo
I dont know the name of the last tune - but its on Time on Our Hands - Siobhan Peoples and Murty Ryan.
Dogbox, the ad was on last night about 9.30pm, I've never seen it before either (we rarely watch but when we do it's always Aunty) and was just lucky I happened to glance at the box as Trouble's picture flashed on the screen. Very low key.
In Sydney the ABC had 'Lateline Business' on before 'Live at the Basement' last night, according to the tv program at least. Did anyone in Sydney actually see the show?
OK, I'm a bit slow on the uptake but now I get it ...
The advert for The Pure Drop was shown on ABC TV but the actual show can only be seen via the website Tish originally posted. And it won't be broadcast on TV.
Anyway, I rang ABC TV scheduling and told them lots of people would love to see this material on TV. [well, you and me at least]
I was surprised it was web-only because Aunty's done other not-exactly-mainstream music shows in later timeslots and you'd think the topic of music a wide range of musicians play to please themselves would have a lot of appeal.
I'm sad that Sirnose was not wearing one of his lovely pink shirts....ahhh - sorry -I meant 'off red' shirts And yes - I rang larni - just waiting till she rings back.
It seems that barefoot might be more common than you think - in Ireland as well as Oz. At least Mick O'Brien and Caoimhin O'Raghallaigh might think so. In both instances the music was just l-o-v-e-l-y.
Oh! And the study guide and clips on Mandawuy Ynupingu and Yothu Yindi are going to be very useful in school. So a big thanks to Auntie. Yes, I agree they should be shown on TV. Great stuff.
If you want to se e this stuff...then DOWNLOAD. Those of you with broadband and bandwidth spare....DOWNLOAD OFTEN! Because ABC programmers will pay attention to hits and download rates. Let's mess with them. IF every the.session.org member downloads two or three times...and the ABC will suddenly think 'folk revival' and pay it all a LOT more attention.

Re: The Pure Drop/Trouble in the Kitchen
Well bugger me! I'm a regular ABC viewer in oz and I've never heard a whisper or seen any promos about this show.
Thanks Tish for the website link and I'll go through the past shows to see what I've been missing all this time ...
The trouble with the kitcheners is they're such good players and they're articulate too. And barefoot is ok, thongs for more formal occasions.

The first jig on TIK's mp3 isn't 'Contentment is Wealth', it's 'Up and About in the Morning'.
