A great friend of mine, and a fabulous musician (piano accordion, piano, whistles) and wonderful singer, passed away yesterday. He lived near Kinvara, Co. Galway, and made a great impact on everyone who met him, both as a musician and as a human being. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace.
I stayed with Paul and his wife Jan in Kinvara several times, and he stayed with me when he visited England. He was a wonderful man who, despite his blindness, lived life to the full, even playing in a band, Parsons Hat.
Visitors to Galway would have probably met him busking outside Taffs Bar in Shop Street, or playing wherever there was a session.A man who lived for his music and a sad loss,
R.I.P. Paul,
Ric
