How many aged between 21 and 65?

How many aged between 21 and 65?

And out of you lot, how many have still got their own teeth?

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Hey John and Níamh, welcome! Have an extra-sticky Highland toffee.

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by Conán McDonnell

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I don't have many, but they're all mine.

Hey - has anyone here ever taken out their teeth at a session and used them like castanets?

Hmm, didn't think so

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Oooh, nice. The perfect way to exclude all thoses other demographic groups. too much sugar for the teens in the toffee and the older people would have too much trouble with thier dentures.

I feel special :)

Thanks Conán

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Hmmmm - are you sure the highland toffee is not just a way of testing us to make sure... do ya not trust us Conán?!!

I'm gutted:-(

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Nice here isn't it.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

There's a special knock... not so much a rythmic pattern as a certain volume... too low for both the Ghettoblaster generation and the hearing aid crowd...

And you have to be able to hear it even when chewing that gorgeous toffee Conán is tempting us all with...

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Don't worry Niamh! Think of the coffee as a Golden Handshake.

Anyway you've got lovely teeth

(cheese alert)

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Sorry, *toffee*!

I'm drinking a coffee just now, hence the error.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Hmmm yes very cheesy! Not swiss cheese though...

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Can we still be conscripted?

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by EastPole

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Well you've got a choice. You can do your National Service classifying and cross-referencing recordings at the Taisce Cheol Dúchais Éireann, or if you're a Conscientious Objector, you can do community work collecting tunes in Fermanagh and Leitrim.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Doesn't everybody age between 21 and 65? Or every year for that matter?

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Not me, I'm only ninteteen (for a touch over the third time), still my own teeth (but with *lots* of gold - it cost a bomb)!
May die soon, of course, but hey, who may not?

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by Lingpupa

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Some don't Kheelch. They mature until 21, and then they just go bad.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I have my own teeth, but I've forgotten what my natural hair color is...

"twenty-one years of age,
full of youth and good-looking!"

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Seems to me about 3.4 billion aged between 21 and 65, if we just include humans. Adding trees to the mix will really screw up the computation.

Eugh, a whole threadfull of boring adults...
I'm getting outta here..

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Yehbut, how many have been PLAYING their instrument between 21 and 65 years? That's what really counts.

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by Key Maniac Lad

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Playing the bodhran for almost 27 years, the accordion for much less.

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by Conán McDonnell

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

piano 45 years. Giving it up and focusing on trad with whistle and box.

When playing piano with/for most folks, too many people want Amy Grant crap and stuff like that, or start kibitzing when you try to play the pretty stuff. Absolutely depressing.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I started my fiddle lessons when I was 41 years younger than I am now. But that doesn't mean I've been playing it for 41 years ;-)

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by kuec

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I'm almost exactly halfway between 21 and 65

Gosh, when you put it that way, it's rather depressing

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I'm a 30 year old fiddle player, but how old am I?

# Posted on February 13th 2007 by bowburner

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

36 Started playing at 11-12... If it has strings I can do something with it. I play the whistle in the car while my wife runs into the store.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

30 years and sometimes practice mandolin while I drive...

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

"30 years and sometimes practice mandolin while I drive..."

Not hoping to live to 31 then?

Actually, I heard something about Vermont or somewhere considering legislation to ban "distracted driving", which included things like reading books and playing musical instruments while you drive...

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I've got a question I'm dying to ask, but if I started a new thread for it, I'm sure our leader would delete it, so I'll ask it here.

I was just wondering, how many of you are the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby?

By the way, I'm six and a half years old, but I feel like I'm between 21 and 65. Does that count?

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I'm 21! yey :) I just fit into this magic age group? Do I get a pension or something?

Re: How many aged between 30 and 60 are ruining the music?

The answer is 'all of them' according to a guy who came on this message board one day and made that claim. Are YOU one of them?

# Posted on February 14th 2007 by Phantom Button

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Oh... I forgot to add that the guy who said that was 22.

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

"how many have still got their own teeth?"

I haven't got anyone else's. And I've got *most* of my own. The fairies have got the rest (I saw them dancing round the dentist's chair as I was coming round from the anaesthetic)>

# Posted on February 14th 2007 by granama

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I aged considerably between 21 and 65, and I've still got a ways to go...

The full set of teeth are ripping and gnawing quite nicely thanks to advancements in modern dentistry, and my corpus colossum is quite robust--you know what they say about musicians!

;^)

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

I'm 52. I have my own teeth, but they're so covered up in plastic or whatever they use these days that I am not sure it counts.

It was a joke dude, I don't even play mandolin. I do have to role down the drivers window and stick the neck of my bouzouki out in order to play that while I'm driving though. And what are you talking about? Distracting. Ptfff.

# Posted on February 14th 2007 by MartySmith

Re: How many aged between 21 and 65?

Many years ago I used to be a bus driver for Cardiff City Transport. I used to play tin whistle whilst driving and, at the same time, completing the Times crossword. I always reckoned the bus knew the route ...

(btw the above is not a joke)

(dude)

(and I used to play mandolin)
