Cormac Breathnach's albino plastic whistle last seen on Geantrai
Cormac Breathnach's albino plastic whistle last seen on Geantrai
Has anybody got an idea where one might lay hands on a whistle such as the one Cormac played tonight? Or even the maker? I should probably e-mail Cormac. That was some beautiful playing! (some credit must go to the musician though).

The Long Long Note was one of my favourite CDs for a long time until I stood on it! The other one that he did with the French scat singing was pretty class too. I noticed that Lúnasa "borrowed" quite a few of the same tunes a few years later on their CDs so I'm guessing Seán Smyth is a fan.

Not many people can get a sweet sound out of a susato? Beg to differ as
I know lots of them and imagine there are very many I don't know. After
all they are everywhere. I do concur that Cormac is near or at the top of
this list.

Didn't catch the show, but I've seen Cormac play ivory-colored engraved Susatos:

See "Laser Engraved Pennywhistles" toward the bottom of the page.

Did catch the show & it certainly looked like one of those, ivory-colored engraved Susatos, to me, MTGuru.
.... & that dude can certainly play - at first glance I thought it was Kenny! (same hair style!)

I'm another fan. Must one of his CDs some day. There's not many people who can get a sweet sound out of a Susato.
