went up to the sugar club in dublin last night to see Ronan o` Snowdaigh( Kila) in concert. What a night! he really is quite an amazing bodhran player, and this coupled with him singing as gaeilge, is one of the best original artist i have ever seen. he is quite an amazing guitarist as well. Was well impressed
A few years ago, I was busking with a friend in Lahinch. Ronan, with whom the said friend was already acquainted, happened to walk past (Kila haveing a gig that night in Lahinch) and joined us on the humble tambourine. He was a pleasure to play with.
I went to the gig later on - not my cup of tea at all. But we had a nice little (traditional) session afterwards.
In my opinion, music is the greatest form of communication. To be able to create something original and as greenwiggle said - twist the envelope. to be great at this and create something powerful is something that every artist should aspire to. The key is to find your own sound and become great at it. The fact that he probably couldn`t give a sh*t what people think shows the confidence he has in himself. And that is something that i respect. And to be truthful music is more universal than a few peoples "cup of Tea"

And although much of the description fits, , great on bodhran, singing etc,it is not me. The guitar bit is a give away.
